Joy and Darnell's wedding is on Earl's birthday and he isn't invited.
Earl becomes upset at the fact that he and Joy aren't close and he crashes Joy's wedding after getting drunk, managing to break her nose by accident with a soccer ball in the process. After Joy recovers, Earl convinces her to let him fix what he did by planning her dream wedding. As they are getting along and planning everything, Earl and Joy accidentally sleep together and Joy makes Earl promise not to tell Darnell. Earl tries to keep this promise, but he feels guilty and finally comes clean to Darnell after Joy tries to cover it up by telling Darnell Earl slept with his mother. Earl tells Darnell that Joy really loves him (Crab Man) because she's so distraught that she might lose him. Darnell forgives Joy and they get married, with Earl in attendance. Earl and Joy still hate each other, but they get along well enough to be like „Bruce and Demi“.
SOMEONE OLD, SOMEONE NEW – Earl (Jason Lee) learns that Joy (Jaime Pressly) has neglected to invite him to her and Darnell’s (Eddie Steeples) wedding from Randy’s (Ethan Suplee) invitation, which instructs him to bring „anyone but Earl.“ Randy of course invites Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) to be his date since he's excited about the opportunity to dance with her. Joy has also conveniently scheduled the wedding on Earl’s birthday so that all of their friends will be unable to celebrate with him. Consequently, Earl drunkenly crashes the ceremony and accidentally breaks Joy’s nose in the process, now forced to add „ruined Joy’s wedding“ to his list. In an effort to right this wrong, Earl helps Joy plan her perfect wedding and the two finally start to get along – maybe a little too well.
